ESITC Caen, lead of the European Project RECIF, and its partners invite you to participate in the ‘RECIF Conference on artificial reefs’, being held in Caen (Normandy, France) from 27th to 29th January 2015.
This conference, as a part of the RECIF project, will gather researchers, industrials and stakeholders to highlight research and case studies about Artificial Reefs, from construction materials and reef design to marine ecosystem.
The project RECIF
The RECIF project was selected under the European Cross-border Cooperation Programme INTERREG IV A between France (Channel) - England, co-funded by the ERDF. It brings together 8 French and British partners and the project is supported by the Regional Authorities in Basse-Normandy.
The project has several objectives:
Enhancing the use of marine resources and reusing by-products (empty shells)
Developing innovative building materials for artificial reefs
Deploying artificial reefs to improve the biodiversity and productivity of the marine ecosystem in the Channel.
French partners: ESITC Caen, University of Caen, National Museum of Natural History, TPC, EMCC
English partners: Plymouth Marine Laboratory, University of Southampton, University of Exeter
Conference format
Oral presentations and poster sessions and special invited lectures.
The conference languages will be French and English.
